Like so many guys who loved sports in college, but weren't quite good enough for the major leagues, I pursued a vocation in sports medicine and physical therapy. Given my personal proclivities, I marketed my services to teams where I could get younger male patients. I just thought the scenery' would be pleasant. College twinks are more fun to appreciate and handle than middle aged golfers, and men who should have given up tennis years ago, although I do have my share of those. I've got to keep the lights on, after all. What I didn't expect was how, I think they call it, heteroflexible so many young men tend to be these days. Back in my day as a player, homophobia was all too prevalent. Gay men who dared to play sports stayed in the closet with the door firmly closed, and the straight guys would rather die than let another man even touch their ass, at least beyond the occasional congratulatory swat. These days, even guys with girlfriends and every intention of marriage and children find themselves wondering just what gay men get out of it. I guess gay men are out in public everywhere, sometimes even on their own teams. It keeps it on their minds and makes it a little less taboo.
